What We Do With Our Spare Time
9:47 AM
You know those small pockets of time you have when you don't have anything planned or much to do? That's what I'm referring to.
Since moving back home from school, the adjustment from my fast paced world to a much more calm environment has been well an adjustment. I've never been great at sitting still or doing mindless things, like watching tv (however I could watch five of my favorite movies in a row.)
It could be the coffee I'm hyped on talking right now but seriously keeping myself engaged in proactive actives is mentally draining.
I've for one been hooked on getting into shape, its a great hobby to pick up because it takes up a lot of my time and I'm finally feeling healthy again from the immese amount of wine that I've consumed over the years along with questionable meals.
Also, blogging. I haven't been posting as much as I would like to but it's a constant thought on my mind. What should I talk about next that won't completely bore people? And here I am talking about spare time so I obviously need a little help.
I do have more of a point to this post than what I've so far precived. I think what people do with the extra time on there hands shows a great deal about a person. I was sitting reading a book just thinking to myself how if I spent my spare time writing just a little everyday I could have written a book by now (which is a dream of mine.) Or if I practiced playing the guitar a little everyday I could most likely play pretty average by now.
Living in such a fast paced world people today feel the need to be constantly busy which isn't entirely a bad thing but it does prevent us from just thinking. You don't realize how many thoughts you have until you just sit and listen to them. Creating things out of your time can be challenging when all you want is a good nap after a long day at work but when you feel that urge I would suggest reading that book you never have time for, taking some time to learn a little French everyday, (any language for that matter that's just my preference) practicing the violin everyday, go to the gym, cook your favorite meal!
The list could go on and now I sound like a motivational speaker and I think thats where the coffee took over. So, I apologize for this entire post maybe it will inspire you, make you laugh, roll your eyes, vomit, hate me or all of the above.
I will be however writing a little book review for a book I am currently reading and so far it's one of the best book I've ever read *gasp* I don't say that often so stay tuned....
