Week 2: Nanny Entry

5:48 PM

(My sister and I as young children. I'm the older and more attractive one)

I've become aware my patience level is not as strong as I'd hoped.

I have a snacking problem. They have an entire fridge of fruit and food I've never gotten to experience before so naturally my entire day is going to be spent making food.

I'm not that athletic. I mean I was already aware of that but when a 7 year old can beat you at any sport it just adds salt to the wound.

I like things clean. I basically hold windex and paper towel in my hands at all times.

I can crack the whip when necessary. My personality is very laid back but when I get sass and whining I will snap my fingers in a "z" formation and tell them to "cut it out!" That's one of my favorite lines.

I like deleting my apps during the day. It's less distractions for myself and keeps me motivated to keep them motivated.

I'm a boss at playing uno. The youngest loves playing uno with me and I never let him win cause I like to win :)

Electronics are a no! It was more of a rule the parents made but I've been on them every day to not go on phones, iPads or TV. iPads are hard cause they use them to text their parents but then I'll catch them watching a tv show.....like I don't even have an iPad why in gods name do you have one? Honestly, I'm just really jealous.

If the parents are home I am a deer in headlights. I don't feel comfortable when the parents are there. I'm close with the mom, she's a sweetheart but i feel like I'm invading her house when I'm going through the fridge to get food for the boys. And quite frankly i just want them to leave so I can do my Pilates in the living room!

But I really love these kids. Even the oldest when I wanna slap him across the face becuase he constantly gives me attitude, ignores me, complains like its his job and is never motivated to do
anything. Yes, I love the kid even then.

That's my two week update and I'll be  back in another two to report any breaking news.

Until then good luck my fellow nanny's!

Sincerely,

Your local super nanny
