Every Anniversary Should Be Spent at SanSu
6:52 AMThe only place sushi should be eaten is at SanSu and we drove over an hour to get our fill so that right there should tell you it's gotta be pretty good.
Pretty good is an understatement. My boyfriend and I started going to SanSu over a year ago while we were at school in the East Lansing area (go green!) We were instantly hooked. The service. Food quality. Atmostphere. It was all just so spot on.
It has a variety of Japaneese dishes not just sushi, so for the people who don't share my love for sushi, there are still options for you! (Quite frankly I don't trust people who don't like sushi)
Here is a look at our lovely evening.
If you order two rolls or more a soup and salad is complementary. Not just any soup and salad.....miso soup and ginger dressing salad. I think miso soup could cure any illness. Then that ginger dressing man. I could drink a glass of it, it's that good.
Our appetizer.
Spicy scallops rolled up in a green wrap. I died and went to heaven with each bite I took. This was the first time I had this and I will for sure be getting this every single time I come.
These were two different kinds of sushi. One is my absolute favorite which is called the angel roll. It's topped with white tuna and filled with crab salad.
The second one is called an avocado roll. It is also amazing. It stopped with spicy scallops and the inside is filled with spicy tuna! For spicy lovers this one is a must!
And last but not least the tuna festival.
At this point I had hardly any room left in my belly but I pushed through and made room for more.
The tuna festival comes with raw white tuna, raw salmon and spicy tuna rolls. It is so fresh and tastes like it was just caught minutes ago.
After loosening a few buttons and hiccuping our way out, we left full, happy and content as ever.
SanSu is a must visit if you are ever in the East Lansing area. With open tatami (traditional Japaneese seating where shoes are taken off) and also regular table sitting as well. It's money well spent with quality food and service with reasonable prices. I've said it before but I really mean it this time, if you want to change your life you should stop by here once in your life for a meal.
And our two year anniversary was well spent with quality conversation, some icecream after our meal and topped off with fireworks at the lake. I'm pretty lucky to be dating my best friend.
