Thank God For Girlfriends
4:12 PMIt's the summer. You meet a boy. You talk and flirt. You flirt some more. He gives you his number (or you're a ballsy chick & give him yours.) You text cute things like ";)" or "omg stop it! Lol" or "I like you." He takes you to the movies. The movie ends. He walks you to your car. You kiss. Sparks fly. He asks you to be his girlfriend. You say yes. You're on cloud 9. You spend every waking moment thinking about each other. The moment he says "I love you." You say it back. You're heart doubles in size. The summer ends. You both have to go away to school. You both don't want to leave. You kiss each other goodbye. You wave and wipe the tear from your cheek. He facetimes you that night. He makes you laugh. He misses your call. You miss his call. He goes out one night. He doesn't text you. You both argue. You cry. You see questionable pictures on Facebook. You confront him. He denies. You cry. He calls. You answer. He breaks your heart. You call your best friend. She listens. You cry. She says come over. She buys you icecream. You watch the saddest movies ever. You both laugh. You feel better. Life goes on.
My little made up story may actually be a real life story for some but the point is to prove that boys will come and go but our true girlfriends will always be there.
I had the best girls weekend with some of my dearest friends. It was a spur of the moment trip. Now let me tell you that never happens......
Yes, I took this through snapchat :)))) |
My friends, bless their hearts, have difficulties making decisions and being able to all get together at once. But we actually planned this trip in a matter of minutes! That is a new record for us. If you have never been to Grand Haven Michigan I suggest you make it a priority to take a visit at least once in your life! Lake Michigan. For starters you can lay on a beach and swim without the risk of getting attacked by sharks or other sea creatures! It looks like an ocean but no salt! No getting a mouth full of salt water and gagging for the rest of the day. Lake Michigan is beautiful and it's better than any ocean you could go to....
Okay I might have taken that too far. But seriously it's a beautiful place. I have proof!
We spent the day at the beach hiding champagne bottles in our bag and secretly making mimosas. Also, laughing, sleeping in the sun, swimming and making some friends with little girls who were dancing along the beach with butterfly wings attached to their arms. We were extremely jealous and wanted some of our own.
I even spotted a pirate ship!
There was some type of "pirate ship" event that was actually going on.......they were even firing off some sort of harmless (I'm guessing) cannons that we could hear from the shore. |
After the long day of relaxation we were absolutely ravenous. So we stopped at a local restaurant that was right on the water.
I want a view like this with every meal please & thank you. |
I'm mad that I didn't take a photo of the bridge...it opens up for big boats that have to get through and then closes again for traffic. It was cool to watch. Dinner & a show.
I'm a sneaky photographer |
I should have gotten some fries.....sighhhh. |
This cutie got a veggie burger that I will for sure need to try next time. |
After the day wound down we went back to Kalamzoo and stayed at my friends place and hit the town.
She's a dime. |
Thank god for my girlfriends.
